This is HTC Desire Eye: 5.2 inches, 13 MP front camera and waterproof body

Four years after the launch of its legendary HTC Desire smartphone, a Taiwanese company decided to dust off its glorious name and showed off a phone called HTC Desire Eye in New York today.

The chip, which the manufacturer considers key, provokes grumbling remarks about the decline in morale: this is a 13-megapixel front camera with a 22-mm wide-angle lens, specially designed for better selfies. Hence the word Eye in the title. Cyclops, it turns out - the camera is located exactly in the center of the forehead. With his only (front) eye, he can still shoot FullHD-video and even blind the victims with a double LED flash. The Desire Eye rear camera has the same 13 megapixels hidden behind a 28 mm lens and its own dual flash.

Let's move on to more meaningful parameters: the Desire Eye screen diagonal is 5.2 inches, which is larger than the original Desire, but by today's standards, this smartphone can be considered mid-sized. Display Resolution - 1920x1080. Case dimensions - 151.7x73.8x8.5 mm, degree of protection - IPX67, which means dustproof and the possibility of a short dive under water to a depth of one meter.

And instead of the heart of our cyclops, there is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, overclocked to 2.3 GHz, two gigabytes of RAM, 16 gigabytes of internal memory and a microSD slot for up to 128 GB and a battery of only 2400 mAh (something is rather cyclopic).
