Nexus 5: Unboxing

More recently, the Nexus 5 smartphone was introduced . Many lucky people who bought the phone within a few hours of the start of sales have already received it. I got it today too. Those who are just thinking of ordering it, alas, most likely will have to wait a couple of weeks. By the way, if you are in the CIS countries, then good instructions for the purchase are posted here . So, under the cut - opening the box and viewing the contents. It helps me in this, of course, Yoda. Lots of photos and a little bit of text.
The phone came in two days (I indicated an accelerated two-day delivery). Moreover, he should have come tomorrow. Somehow, UPS was able to deliver it a day faster. He came in a simple little box, which had been lying in front of the apartment doors for half a day.
To the question of how we deliver
A parcel worth more than $ 400 failed half a day in this form. UPS’s tracking page reads “Left at: front door”.

Yoda climbed onto the box and says that without a sharp knife it cannot be opened.

Inside the box there is actually a box with a telephone and a piece of paper with order information.

The box with the phone itself lies quite tightly inside the parcel box, no seals or packing materials.

Actually, a box with a phone. Yoda stands nearby and admits that such a game with an image as with Nexus 7 , where the corner of the screen formed the number 7 ...
Did not work out.

Therefore, the "five" is simply drawn inside the drawn screen.
We pull this blue cardboard box with the image of the phone, and we get a simple white box, in the lower right corner of which is the inscription "Google".

Yoda says that here you can’t do without a knife, the box is sealed quite well with white stickers.

We cut it, open the box, and finally we see the phone itself.

Let me remind you that the Nexus 5 does not have a removable battery, so the phone goes out of the box, as they say, right away, in its entirety. IMEI number, by the way, is printed on the back cover.
Under the phone lies a very important thing, the value of which I could not possibly exaggerate. SIM Removal Tool.

In addition to this, there are several pieces of paper in the box, a guarantee, charging, a cord and ... everything. There is nothing else. Meagerly, but honestly, do you need something else?

Yoda as a bee tells us: “You will need all that” ...

We peel off the sticker on the screen. Another one on camera. And here is the phone from all sides:
Speaker grille, camera and two sensors are made very high quality. The phone generally lies in one hand as one monolithic flat brick, even though it is relatively light. Affects the lack of a rear removable cover.

The camera protrudes significantly from the body. Covered with large round glass is much larger than the lens. Let's hope that image stabilization works well on this camera.

The volume rocker is also made soundly, as far as I heard, from some ceramics. The edges of the rocker are very sharp to the touch.

The power button and the compartment where the SIM card is inserted. The compartment extends with the SIM Removal Tool. Which, by the way, is made of fairly hard metal and quite accurately enters the hole. The compartment is fully extended, which personally inspires me with fear that at some point in time it may simply get lost / fall out of my hands and disappear.

On the bottom cover there are microUSB and two grilles, as I understand it, speakers or microphones. On the upper edge of the mini-jack for headphones and another small hole, either a microphone, or some other sensor.

Finally, turn on the phone and we immediately have to download a small, megabyte 125, update.

The update is installed for a long time, the phone restarts even longer.

Finally, after the standard procedures for the first turning on the phone and entering all the necessary information - fresh Android 4.4 in all its glory appears before us.

On this, allow me to take my leave. I am sure that detailed reviews of both the phone itself and the new OS version will appear soon. And this, I recall, was just unboxing.
