3Doodler hurries to you! (Bonus: Clone Review)

    image

In February there was a post “3Doodler Pen You Can Draw Three-Dimensional Objects Directly in the Air” , which made a fuss on the Russian-speaking Internet.
But there was “ Our answer ”, in which the “analog” was assembled in 20 minutes “on the knee” (although the cost of the prototype was about $ 1000).

Recall that the 3Doodler project collected the declared amount of $ 1 million per hour after launching on Kickstarter.
In total, they raised $ 2.3 million.
And now the time has come when 30,000 customers will ship their order.

Daniel Cowen, the project’s cofounder comments: “We have worked hard not to go beyond the schedule and start delivering products this month and we look forward to people starting to create with the 3Doodler pen.

Like most 3D printers on the market, 3Doodler uses both ABS and PLA as the printing material. Each of them has its own advantages.
3Doodler uses 25 centimeter bars of plastic, 50 such bars of different colors are included.

    The pre-order price is $ 99.
3Doodler will go on retail in early 2014.

3DYAYA , a Chinese clone of 3Doodler, said it was the first to “enter” the market.
3DYAYA created a group of inventors from China. 3DYAYA launched a crowdsourcing campaign on its website and raised 31,230 Chinese Yuan ($ 5,100) by June 13th.

The price of 3DYAYA is 259 Chinese Yuan (42 US dollars).
3DYAYA uses ABS or PLA plastic 1.75 mm thick and 3Doodler 3 mm as the “ink”.

More information about the investigation of the plot is written here.

    Russia

The guys from the “3D Printing Laboratory”, in addition to the shelves with “replicators”, have a bunch of spare parts for all kinds of “mendel”, and since I soldered the hotend the day before, I got the idea to connect an arduino, a power supply from the computer, etc. to it.

For this thing to work, it took 3 people: the first kept the print head and yelled gave voice commands to the second, who manually controlled the temperature and the flow of plastic on the next laptop in manual mode. Someone else was actively blowing, so that the plastic quickly hardened and bit off extra lines with nippers.

I had several suggestions to launch a project in Russia, but I refused, for the most part because of laziness and gouging because I do not consider it a project that will change the world . ButI consider the “launch loop” .

I was told in a personal message that the people, if they really need it, use this

About a week later, a certain Alex Bochkovsky using "stolen" photos tried to launch a project on indiegogo (the link no longer works www.indiegogo.com/projects/it-sa-3dpen-second-in-the-world-but-does- not-mean-that-it-s-worse ).

P.S. I will be happy to play around with 3Doodler for about 15 minutes.

We are waiting for reviews on Habr!
