Winter, a smartphone and gloves, or prepare your finger in the summer ...

Winter-winter is not far off, frost and sun, wonderful day ... The sun is good, but frost ... Accustomed to freely use a smartphone in the summer, I want to use it as freely in the winter. But there are certain problems with this.

Someone like that, but my hands freeze in winter. So I wear gloves on them. At the same time, reading the Twitter feed, or even just answering the call, becomes very difficult: take off the gloves, get the phone, wave the freezing finger on the unlock slider ... and put the gloves back on urgently because the hands are freezing.

Googling a little, experimenting and inspired by thisBy posting on a hub, I decided to make wonderful gloves that can be manipulated in the cold with any smartphone with a capacitive screen (which includes screens of androids, iPhones, and the vast majority of other modern smartphones). The process, the result and the video are rolled up.

For the manufacture of miraculous gloves, like the author of the aforementioned post, I used an antistatic film. If you have ever bought a hard drive, you most likely already have one. A package of gray translucent film, possibly with something like this icon:

Here is a piece of this film separately:

For experiments, I used this powerful winter glove, the fur inside, very warm and guaranteed to prevent manipulations with the touch screen:

I cut a strip from the film about a half centimeter wide and from the end of the index finger to the base of the thumb:

To attach the film to the glove, I used instant glue-gel - the gel compound remains flexible and does not crumble when dried. At least so it is written on the box, do not consider it an advertisement.

As a result, such a band formed on the finger of the glove, which is almost imperceptible from the outside (in the picture it shines with light from the screen, I had to tinker to make it appear):

I ’ll immediately note that according to the results of the experiments, the shape of the film is not important for reliable operation, but its important quite a large area.

The result of the work is in the video. As you can see, the screen responds quite lively, without any problems.

Whenever you do something, be sure to check to see if anyone has done something similar. Of course! How did I forget ... well, I spent a couple of hours on everything about everything, of which most of the time was spent on pictures and post, so the losses are small.
