Starcraft Universe MMO Developers Released on Kickstarter

The MMO mod for Starcraft II, which turns the game into an open MMO world, may become a reality faster than planned. The add-on developers launched the company on Kickstarter in order to receive funds for the early release of their project. Moreover, the requested amount is not calculated in millions, or even hundreds of thousands of dollars. Developers needed only 80 thousand US dollars. At the same time, 10 thousand dollars have already been raised in a couple of days, so the campaign looks quite real.

The Upheaval Arts mod is being developed, and will be distributed through Battle.net from Blizzard. For those gamers who have already purchased Starcraft, the mod will be free. But, of course, without money the mod cannot be implemented.

Subject to receiving support from the Kickstarter community, the developers promised to develop new storylines, locations, add localization for players from different countries. Of course, the "sponsors" get additional goodies, like things from the game, talking on Skype with the developers and even the opportunity to collaborate with a composer who writes music for the game.
