Whether it is true or not is not known. But it is also undeniable that Turing’s name is already associated with many significant moments in the history of computer science, and simply in world history. He proposed a test to assess the artificial intelligence of a computer, decrypted the code of the fascist Enigma, which brought the end of World War II closer. However, more than his life, his death is known. Alan Turing was recognized as one of the most famous victims of homophobia. Despite his merit in science, the British government subjected the renowned scientist to chemical castration. For being homosexual. Unable to stand it, Turing committed suicide by biting a poisoned apple.

Then the government showed that it was more important for them with whom a person was sleeping than what he had done and - most importantly - what else could be done for the country. Now in our country, including in St. Petersburg, lawmakers are doing almost the same thing as the British government - then.

We very much hope that in Russia not a single talented developer or scientist (and indeed any person) will be convicted or brought to suicide because he is gay. And we invite everyone on Sunday, October 28, to the film "Decryptor" dedicated to Alan Turing.
