Crossover Feedback Week

If you had to get a job through the HR department, here are a few standard phrases that you receive after a week of silence and two or three letters and calls to responsible persons from the organization of interest: “we found a more suitable candidate”, “you don’t suit us”, “This vacancy is already closed”, “* unintelligible mooing *”. No matter how many say that a neutral answer is a “care” about a candidate, it’s all about resources, and instead of ephemeral care, a person gets a jump in blood pressure and the feeling that N-hours have been wasted.

When waiting for feedback on the results of the interview

The problem of the modern labor market is that people get these illegible answers more often on their own initiative, so the standard “you are not selected” email does not look so bad. Why practically no one ever gives a detailed reasoned refusal? Giving a detailed, motivated refusal to each applicant is long, difficult and expensive (on the basis of man-hours), therefore the labor market practices these short answers and only if you ask for it.

We also send letters of refusal if the candidate does not go to the shop window (and we do it ourselves, without reminders), but we should always strive for more. So for all IT workers and Habr readers, first of all for the residents of Moscow, we are holding a kind of “Feedback Week”. When you get a job, you know exactly what you were hired for. But it’s always interesting why they refused?

If you prefer feedback always, and not only in case of success, then we have a great suggestion.

All candidates who pass the testing procedure on our website from June 20 to June 24, in case of refusal, will receive a clear answer why they did not go to the showcase of Crossover vacancies, and not “sorry, you are not suitable.” Usually, we simply inform applicants that their professional skills do not correspond to the position in question, but not this week.

    What you need to do:

    1. Go to our website by reference .
    2. Choose a position that suits your profile and skills.
    3. Click Apply and fill out your profile.
    4. Answer the questions of the primary test.
    5. Submit the result for review.

If you are a confident professional and correctly assess your strength, then you will pass on. But much more interesting reasons for which a person receives a refusal. If you do not approach the selected position, then write to us at feedbackrus@crossover.com with the indication of the e-mail registration and your full name in order to find out “what went wrong”. If you want to get a complete answer to all your weak points, then it is worth passing the subsequent tests (except the first). This will give a more complete picture of what is happening.

We know for sure that this information will be useful to people who are looking for more paid or remote work, but are not confident in their abilities, as you can try the tests and get an offer no more than once in 3 months.

    Why do I need this?

There is no trick. Experienced specialists are always in the price and for the products of their labor in the market there is a constant struggle. At some point, we caught ourselves thinking that we were focusing too much on success stories: we talked about how our Hiring Tournament goes to positions from $ 50 / hour and above, how VP Slava Kulakov and Maxim Vinnikov work , even spoke to the developer from Minsk, Sergey Rogach , who has been kodit on pros for 19 years. In fact, we made a typical “survivor's mistake”, telling the stories of successful people, in practice, without helping those who were refused.

It is almost impossible to organize constant and full-fledged feedback with all applicants: for this, you need to hire a separate team that will inform the candidates who have not passed the testing. At the same time, we give general recommendations on skills and experience, some tips on professional self-development for participants of the Hiring Tournament, but this is not always enough. Often, people are afraid to get just a refusal, it undermines self-confidence, because you do not know why they said no to you. We suggest checking yourself without any risk to your peace of mind.

It is quite possible that our small campaign will help someone to get a high-paying job in three months: if it’s a matter of a few shortcomings that can really be eliminated in a short period, then why not do this? In addition to this “informational support”, we also conduct a mini-draw within our “Feedback Week”: everyone who creates a profile and passes primary testing in the next 4 days will take part in the draw of three Air Pods sets (which can be friends with and any device other than the iPhone). This part of our event is a small bonus for those who like to receive prizes and souvenirs for their activity. Given that this is not about thousands of profiles, the chances of getting, besides the feedback, are also quite good.

We are waiting for your profiles and tests performed, and for results, contact feedbackrus@crossover.com , we will be happy to share information.
