A malware detection system will appear in Chrome

Chrome, a browser from Google, is liked by many not only in its minimalistic design, speed and other "goodies", but also in the gradual fouling of the browser with functionality that allows you to make working on the Web more secure. So, Sandbox technology has received widespread approval from users. The other day, developers announced the commissioning of a simple protection system against downloading malicious software.

The concept is quite simple, and is designed more for an ordinary user, not an expert in the field of network security or “advanced” users. The fact is that the number of all kinds of malicious resources offering to download trojans and other software of this kind under the guise of antiviruses or registry cleaners is increasing every day. Despite some attempts to deal with such sites, so far neither the government bodies of different countries, nor the IT companies succeed.

Google went the simple way - a system was added to Google Chrome that checks the URL of the site from which such a file is downloaded at the time of downloading the executable file. If a match is found on the Google Safe Browsing database (constantly updated), then the user is warned that this file may contain malicious code. The Safe Browsing API has been developed over the past few years, so the database of malicious sites is really extensive.

Such a security system only warns, but does not block the file. If the user still decides to download the Trojana similar program on your PC, the browser will not interfere with this. This update will soon be added to the development builds of Google Chrome and Chromium. Maybe the system has already been added, since a message from Google appeared on April 5th.
