    1. On March 16, the Moscow City Duma adopted in first reading a law according to which each metropolitan school will be required to have an official website.The purpose of the innovation is "to ensure publicity to every educational institution." The bill was approved by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, however, the Department of Education of the capital and the prosecutor's office has a number of amendments to the document.

    - What should the school tell about itself on the Internet?
    - Dmitry Satin: “The school’s site [ideally] is online lessons.”
    - Ekaterina Aksenova: “The school’s website should be 90% made by high school students.”


    2. The Yandex search engine has implemented the so-called regional hints. Now, when entering the first letters of the request, residents of different cities will see options for its continuation, depending on their location. A set of hints is formed based on the most popular user queries.

    3. The first Cyrillic email service "Letter.rf" has begun work. According to the publication Egzt.ru, while the resource servers are capable of serving a maximum of ten thousand accounts. Each newly-made owner of the "Russian-language mail" is also required to provide an address in Latin - it will be the opposite for those recipients whose postal services do not allow work with Cyrillic domains.

    - Dmitry Satin: “There should be a single language in such global things as Internet technologies. If we pull it into national zones, then we erect barriers between these zones. ”

    4. The Google Docs online documentation service has changed the commenting system. Now, when creating a comment, a discussion branch opens to the right of the working field, where each message is in a mini-block with the author’s name, avatar, time and date. The discussion is organized in the spirit of social networks, primarily Twitter. The page is updated in real time, and comments are additionally sent to those who are addressed by e-mail. The new scheme is valid only for documents that were created after its implementation.

    5. The Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation rejected the appeal of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company against the decision to refuse to satisfy its claim against the VKontakte social network. The television company demanded to recover from the owners of the service three million rubles for posting an illegal copy of the movie “Piranha Hunt”. From the point of view of the cassation instance, the defendant in this case took all measures to prevent offenses.

    - Dmitry Satin: “The sites were not very ready for how they would be used.”
    - Ekaterina Aksenova: “When it is clear that there is a simple legal way to buy digital content, most consumers buy it.”

    6. The registrar of domain names Ru-Center will be a part of the RBC holding. Alexander Panov, managing partner of the Hosting Community group of companies, which is part of RBC, was entrusted with managing the structure. Former Ru-Center CEO Alexei Lesnikov will become his adviser. The transaction amount and its other aspects were not disclosed until the completion of legal procedures.
