Rules of conduct in an emergency or non-standard situation
- Transfer
I came across the Fly-Navigate-Communicate rule from Airbus Golden Rules.
I found the rules themselves at the address.
At the end I came across the rules of behavior in a non-standard / emergency situation. Because airplane management and project management are quite similar - I decided to make a transfer.

Golden rules for non-standard and emergency situations
- Identify the most important factor in the situation before acting. The
wrong decision is often the result of incorrect recognition and identification of the main threat. - Define risks and time limits.
Take time to buy time:- Postpone actions when possible; and / or
- Cancel the entire project or change the boundaries of the project.
- Review and evaluation of all possible options
It is necessary to review and evaluate all possible options before making a decision. - Actions must be appropriate for the situation.
In an emergency, you must act without delay (this does not mean that you need to act headlong), while in an unusual situation you can postpone the action. - Manage team members load Keep
to the selected task distribution for a non-standard / emergency situation to reduce load and optimize team resources.
Use a simplified workflow whenever possible. - Create a common model of the situation with other team
members. Agree with team members to create a common understanding of:- What is most important now;
- What is planned to be done.
Creating a general picture of the situation allows team members to work according to a common plan, moving towards a common and well-understood goal. - Follow the recommended procedures and other agreed actions.
Understand the causes and consequences of each action before the action itself, and check the result of the previous action before the next.
Beware of irreversible actions.
