How do people log in to the web?

Recently, Janrain published the results of recent studies regarding the issue of which social networks and services enable people to log in to third-party resources and share content on the network.

As in the last April report, Google and Facebook dominate among sites that provide the ability to log in to their third-party sites under their accounts. Among visitors to 250 thousand sites using the Janrain Engage system , 38% is logged in with Google accounts.

In second place, of course, Facebook and 24% of the number of authorizations. Yahoo takes third place with its 14%. Twitter, the leader in individual segments, in the total mass shows a result of 5%.

And although Google leads the total number of inputs differentially, in certain areas Facebook is confidently in first place. And among the media sites, Yahoo users (34%) go to the forefront.

Publishers' websites are most often accessed under a Facebook account. Moreover, decidedly more often - 57% of the entries, which is almost three times better than the result of the closest pursuer in the group - Google.

The situation is repeated on sites of a musical orientation. Facebook leads with a very similar result, and in second place is Twitter.

Apparently, such Facebook results are due to the fact that the representatives of the publishing and music sectors themselves use Facebook for promotion, which is why audiences begin to overlap to a greater extent.

In matters of sharing, of course, Facebook has no equal. Like buttons look at us from everywhere. Confidently holds the second place on Twitter, not so long ago launched its buttons officially.

Interesting trends by which one can judge some distinctive features of users of different services. No less interesting is the Janrain Engage platform itself, which is a serious step towards one account for everything. And I mean not only online.
