Spotify received go-ahead to host Apple Store
Apparently, behind Spotify there are two large major labels (Warner and Universal) that played into the hands of a young Swedish startup, because the other day Apple gave the go-ahead for hosting the Spotify client for the iPhone in the Apple Store. Which is not surprising, since Apple's revenue is partly dependent on sales of mp3 songs, and it will be the last to quarrel with Apple labels.
It remains to be hoped that the antitrust committee will tighten the company, and applications such as Google Voice will get into the AppStore.
