For a long time I noticed behind firefox (I did not check on others) strangeness in displaying the Reader icon in the bookmarks bar. If the bookmark refers to http : //www.google.com/..., then the icon on the bookmark matches the favicon of the page: 
but if the link looks like https : //www.google.com/..., we already see the application icon, I’m scrambling to 16x16: 
(I don’t immediately see what is on it). But this is not all: it tends to spontaneously change both to the native favicon and to the colorful Google icon.
