We are constantly working to increase the speed of our services. To this end, we are creating data centers and high-performance user interfaces. High data processing speed is a key requirement in the development of our products and infrastructure, because, according to our research , users prefer high-performance applications with fast query processing.

Over the years, we have gained vast experience in improving productivity and are ready to share it with the online community on the new website for web developers (www.code.google.com/speed). It provides tips and step-by-step instructions for speeding up web applications from developers, webmasters and other professionals.

We are pleased to discuss our experience, however, in order to optimize the performance of the entire spectrum of web applications to the maximum, we must work together as a single community. We must solve a number of major problems that slow down the network and prevent it from fully realizing its potential. Then surfing the net will be as fast as flipping through the pages of your favorite magazine.

- Many protocols that provide the Internet and the World Wide Web were developed at a time when broadband and multifunctional interactive web applications were at the very beginning of development. Over the past 20 years, networks have become much faster, and by improving HTML and TCP / IP, we can greatly increase the user experience on the network. A good example of collaboration is the development of the HTML5 protocol. The integration of functions such as AppCache into it allows developers to create applications that are rich in JavaScript and at the same time work as fast as desktop applications.

- Over the past ten years, we have seen almost a hundredfold increaseJavaScript speeds. We believe that there is great potential for innovation in terms of speed and browser performance. This will allow them to become an ideal platform for multifunctional applications requiring a large number of complex calculations.

- The development and widespread application of effective practices in the field of productivity can increase the speed of the network as a whole. Products such as YSlow , developed by Yahoo !, as well as our recently launched Page Speed product, help web developers create faster applications with less response time. Nevertheless, we believe that further work is needed on tools, development environments and solutions that will allow developers to quickly measure the speed of their web pages and applications and optimize them.

- Despite the fact that the number of wireless subscribers around the world has already exceeded 400 million, the penetration of broadband access in many regions of the world is still relatively small. A number of incentive measures are being taken to strengthen innovation and spread broadband access to a larger number of users. One of these measures was the decision of the FCC Commission.about the discovery of the free spectrum of frequencies. The Internet community must continue to play a decisive role in the development of policies and technologies aimed at enhancing the penetration of broadband access around the world.

To find out what googlers think about network acceleration, see the video below. If you have your own ideas, share them with the rest of the community. Together we will make the network faster!
