HP recalls laptop batteries. 70 thousand devices at risk

About 70 thousand lithium-ion batteries installed in HP and Compaq laptops can ignite spontaneously, ZDNet reports citing a statement by the American version of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. It is known about two recorded similar cases, however, ended without consequences for owners of portable devices.

At risk are laptops that were on sale from August 2007 to March 2008, of all price categories - from $ 500 to $ 3,000, including those purchased at hp.com and hpshopping.com online stores. In addition, we are talking about separately sold batteries ($ 100 and $ 160). The image below shows the batches and serial numbers of these accessories.
