Twitter changes @reply settings
Previously, each twitter user had a choice in which mode he wants to display reply messages in his stream. In particular, it was possible to view the discussions of friends with strangers. Now this option has been disabled, as yesterday the developers modestly reported on their blog .
The developers claim that they studied the behavior of Twitter users and determined that the most convenient setting for most users is the option to view those discussions in which both participants are familiar (that is, they both are in the user's contact list). If your friend answered someone from outside the circle of your acquaintances, then this reply will no longer be displayed in your stream.
This decision has already caused a wave of user protests. They predict that the old scheme will be returned no later than before the end of the year.
It is believed that developers do not so much want to increase the convenience of users, but rather try to temporarily reduce the load on Twitter servers, which are now barely breathing.
