Twitter and poppy - together forever

On the Apple website in the section "Portfolio" (Mac) there was a page dedicated to Twitter . It turns out that in the office of Twitter are only poppies and macbooks. All staff (a little less than 30 people) also work for them.

The Twitter engine was also made using the Ruby on Rails toolkit, which comes bundled with Mac OS X. All programmers are required to have the latest version of Mac OS X. Many of them use the TextMate code editor, which exists only on the Mac platform. During meetings, Twitter programmers launch Campfire group chat (it is also available via iPhones).

Designers test the site under Safari and Firefox, and, if necessary, run Windows on a virtual machine directly on their poppies.

Apple cites this Twitter as an example of a business based on Mac computers, Apple technology, and even in accordance with the ideology of the "apple company." In the article “Twitter. The Triumph of Humanism ”says:

“ Twitter is a minimalist communication tool, and it’s very powerful; the same can be said of Mac computers, embodying beautiful design, simple elegance and at the same time incredible power and flexibility. "
