Tabs in the past? New FF Interface
Where will FF go? What could fundamentally change in it soon?
- Oliver Reichenstein and Aza Raskin, not the last people in the company, answered these questions by proposing to remove the tab system!
Tabs were a good solution when the number of open pages rarely exceeded a dozen. Now, when browsers are gradually turning into operating systems, a new paradigm for organizing information has become necessary.
Instead of tabs, Reichenstein wants to create a system that structures information in the browser, like a multimedia file system. It offers a new interface that looks more like iTunes than the current Firefox, with folders, libraries, and bookmarks in the sidebar.
UPD This plugin will help in a similar way to change your FF.
