Social Dictionary - Learn English Together!
It was like this: once I realized that my vocabulary of the English language is rather scarce, and this really hinders my life and work, because most of the information that interests me (manuals, blogs, articles) is written in English. So you need to urgently learn words! But learning everything in alphabetical order is not the best solution, because most texts are slightly less than completely composed of a limited number of words. These are most verbs, prepositions and a certain number of nouns. Thus, if we make a selection from a sufficiently large number of sites of various subjects, we can find out which words and parts of speech are used most often.
And this service was born - Social Dictionary
It’s probably more correct to call it a “miniservice”, because it consists of only five pages, and is written in a few days.
The essence of its work is very simple - users add links to English-language sites. The system parses these sites and collects some statistics. After some time of work, when the amount of information accumulated is large enough, you can summarize and chart the most popular words that you can safely learn :)
Actually, the only reason for writing this topic is the desire to ask the habrasociety to go to this site and add at least , at one relevant link. After all, as they say, with the world on a thread - a naked shirt.
It is better to add pages that do not contain jargon, a large number of definitions, specific definitions, etc.
I will be very glad to read any criticism or wishes.
