Swiftfox is an extremely compiled Firefox for Linux, it is optimized for your processor and works much faster.
Personally, I have both launching and rendering pages much faster, taking into account the not fast Athlon-XP.
It was installed without any problems on ubuntu 8.10, all extensions (firebug, webdeveloper) work like clockwork.
