Apple flavor

Suppose you are planning or considering going to Europe to relax. Then do not forget that in addition to pleasant impressions and souvenirs, you can bring Mac from there. I will tell you about my own experience in buying a computer in Spain and I will be very happy if this article helps you in the same way.

I went to Spain to relax on the Costa Daurada , which is not far from the capital of Catalonia - Barcelona. The decision to buy an iMac was made before leaving, so I preoccupied myself with a search for places where apple technology was sold.
All store addresses can be found on local Apple sites . In Barcelona, the most convenient is El Corte Inglés, which is located in Plaza Catalunya in the city center. This store is networked, so you should be careful and not go into another one. I don’t vouch for the availability of the Apple Store :) Getting there is easy. Almost any sightseeing tours in the city include the availability of free time. As a rule, tourists leave in the area of the main street - La Rambla, which stretches from the old port to the square of Catalonia we need.

If you were left in Plaza Catalunya, then in three minutes you will be in the store. If at the port, as happened to me, enjoy a walk along this Barcelona Arbat. I emphasize, enjoy . Because the return road with a heavy fool cherished box in your hands will not seem to you honey. Along the way, I advise you to go to the market and eat fresh exotic and not so fruit, packaged in disposable packages. In Russia there is no such Eden ... :(

Back to the store. From the entrance you are looking for the nearest escalator rising up. We go up to the 7th floor, looking at the boutiques with nice clothes and furniture. After you are on the top floor, go forward literally 15 meters and on the left you see what interests us - the Apple store.

After you have chosen the right model, do not forget to tell the seller to arrange Tax Free. For those who do not know, the refund of value added tax (in Spain, NDS is called IVA and amounts to about 16%) to non-residents of the country (yeah, to us tourists) who leave it, is practiced in all developed countries. Tax Free in the EU is issued for goods worth more than € 90. Do not forget that you need to have a passport with you to apply for Tax Free, and when paying by credit card. (A copy, in principle, also passes).
Be careful, the final registration of Tax Free does not take place at the seller, but in a special place. In El Corte Inglés, it is on the minus second floor. There, they will offer you a choice of the method of tax refund - in cash or on a card, and, besides the Tax Free documents themselves, they will give you a piece of paper that shows the procedure for returning money at the airport of departure. If you hint at your nationality, the paper will be in Russian.

Directly at the airport you need to go to the customs desk with a passport, check, airplane ticket and TaxFree documents, wait a queue (10-30 minutes) and get the treasured seal on the documents and go to the cash desk of one of the two banks located in the terminal there. There they will return the money, holding a penny for it.

The savings are very tangible. If in the store I paid € 1,250 (about 45,000 rubles), then returning to the airport at € 170 reduced the costs to 39,000. As you know, to buy a top-end iMac 20 '' in Moscow, and indeed in Russia, for such money is unrealistic.
The only minor inconvenience was the lack of Russian letters on the keyboard and the presence of Spanish type ñ :)

UPD: Regarding our customs. In the Russian Federation, the unhindered import of goods with a total value of 65,000 rubles is allowed. I just walked past all these red corridors and X-rays with a quick step and did not bother. However, if in addition you carry a beech or something else small, you can remove it from the package and put it in a backpack. Then its face value decreases sharply and the customs loses interest in it.

So, if you have the right amount, a trip abroad and a bit of optimism - everything will work out. There is nothing complicated about it, and buying equipment in other stores and / or countries differs only in nuances.

Good luck Thanks for attention. ;)
