Mail Trends: Visual Analysis of Gmail
Mihai Parparita, one of Google’s programmers, has written a great Python program that provides a comprehensive analysis of the entire archive of your Gmail mail.
The Mail Trends program downloads the headers of all letters from the server, and then generates an HTML page with many interesting diagrams: here is the statistics of your mail traffic by year, month, day of the week and time of day; size of letters; the most active senders (with activity change chart) and much more.
Statistics are periodically updated by IMAP. It turns out a certain analogue of Search History Trends , but only for your personal mail.
To run Mail Trends, you must have Python installedas well as Cheetah templates .
