Advanced graphics for roguelike

I came across the TCOD project - in my opinion, one of the most advanced roguelike on schedule. I'm talking about the classic (only?) Kind of roguelike - ASCII graphics.
Beauty is awesome! Of course, it’s not entirely honest ascii, but still ... Yes, there is one minus - there haven’t been any releases yet, but something tells me that there is no such LOS and light, I haven’t seen it anywhere else. Waiting for ...
