Siemens transferred data faster than anyone
Siemens announced a new record for data transfer speed: according to AlgoNet , the company's specialists managed to transmit information through an optical channel at a distance of about 100 miles (161 kilometers) at a speed of 107 Gb / s. This is 2.5 times faster than the previous channel throughput record.
Siemens experts, who used exclusively electric means, are sure that the advantage of the method developed by them is that there is no need to separate the signals into several slower flows in order to avoid congestion - this ultimately slows down the speed and, moreover, requires the use of more expensive equipment.
