German Klimenko dismissed as adviser to the President of Russia
Yesterday it became known that German Klimenko, by presidential decree Vladimir Putin, was removed from his post as adviser to the president on Internet development. Klimenko has held this position since January 2016.
In his own words, the main task of the adviser on the Internet was the resolution of issues related to the conduct of online business. At the same time, the protection of civil rights was not included in the Klimenko task list. “I think that the actions of a citizen are the actions of a citizen. It doesn’t matter where they happen - online or offline. If his rights are affected, then we have an ombudsman for human rights, human rights organizations and so on, ” he said in 2016.
Despite the fact that Klimenko’s name does not appear in the new presidential administration, he does not plan to fully retire. In particular, the ex-adviser plans to start developing telemedicine. “We have excellent chances to enter the world market with working products, while ensuring in Russia a dramatic improvement in the quality of diagnostics of oncology and other diseases,” he said .
It is worth noting that German Klimenko has repeatedly stated that the network infrastructure of the Russian Federation can work autonomously. He stated this in connection with the possible disconnection of Russia from the global network. Klimenko said that difficulties would arise in any case, but “by itself, hardware, software, there are no contraindications for us to live well and normally, effectively, even if such a war is declared against us, something like Crimean isolation. We have everything to fight. ”
From the point of view of Klimenko regarding the work of the Runet and various legal and technological nuances can be found in an interview that was published a year ago on Geektimes.
