VimpelCom, Megaphone and Tele2 will raise tariffs at the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Communications proposes to cancel roaming with Belarus

    Telecom operators Vimpelcom, Megafon and Tele2 announced an increase in the cost of services in early 2019, as reported by Vedomosti. So, VimpelCom sent messages to subscribers, which talk about the increase in tariffs and the cost of connected services from January 1. The price will be increased by a factor of 1.0696949.

    The company explains its move by raising the VAT to 20%. The support service of VimpelCom stated that "the company fulfills the obligation to fulfill the FZ-303 to change the VAT rate."

    As for other telecom operators, Megfon is going to update prices from January 9. The change in the company's tariffs is also explained by the increase in the VAT rate. Tele2 publisheda statement saying that the operator “cannot ignore changes in the market, in the industry and the economy,” therefore, sometimes companies have to revise the cost of services.

    Well, today it became known that the minister of digital development, communications and mass communications of Russia Konstantin Noskov proposes to cancel roaming between Russia and Belarus. Cancellation will be carried out in three stages. In 2019, tariffs will be reduced, and then it is planned to cancel the fee for incoming calls, as reported by Kommersant .

    "The first stage, which is scheduled for February 2019, is the establishment of symmetrical rates for traffic transmission services, that is, we need to align the interconnect, we need the operators of our countries to be in the same conditions," said Noskov at a session of the Russian parliamentary assembly and Belarus.

    Perhaps roaming will be canceled altogether within the Eurasian Economic Union. Earlier it said Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Anatoly Golomolzin.
