Over the course of several months, we have received many requests for the inclusion of the Russian language in the Skype audio translator language portfolio. We are pleased, finally, to cross this frontier, and declare the beginning of the support of one of the most difficult dialectically in the world’s languages ​​by Skype, ”says the official Skype blog.

    According to the information from the official site of the messenger, the built-in translator provides support for simultaneous translation in eight languages ​​for calls and for fifty when using text messages.

    For the first time, Skype Translator was presented to the public in 2014 by Microsoft’s CEO Sataya Nadella. Implemented a translator using the technology of in- depth training and neural network training with the help of Big Data.

    During the translation, Skype Translator constantly analyzes the text, selects the best translation options, and also saves data (including voice calls) for subsequent additional processing and learning of the algorithm.

    By default, Skype Translator is disabled for all conversations.

    This function does not work in group chats - the translator button is simply not there. While Skype Translator is under development and is available only for its main platform - Windows. Will it appear on mobile devices and versions for other platforms is not reported.
