Telegram began to accept complaints holders on bots

Perhaps, the rights holders complained about Telegram on Google, Apple and Roskomnadzor.

The administration of Telegram messenger added a paragraph for rightholders in the Service FAQ who would like to complain about copyright infringement when distributing content in public channels and using bots. The following has been added to the list of common questions: “The bot or channel violates my copyright. What should I do?".

At the same time, the administration of Telegram declares that it does not plan to consider complaints related to closed chat rooms, but accepts claims regarding such content distributors as bots, open channels. Claims regarding sticker sets are also accepted.

“All regular and group chats in Telegram are private from the point of view of their participants. We do not consider any complaints related to them. But stickers, channels and bots are publicly available objects. If you notice a bot, a channel or a set of stickers that violates your rights, please contact us at dmca@telegram.org. Please note that such requests should be sent only on behalf of the copyright holder or his authorized representative, ”the FAQ says.

Unfortunately, the scheme for the consideration of claims holders is not disclosed.

Now Telegram has a number of bots of services blocked in the Russian Federation. These are the bot of the torrent tracker Rutracker , the bot of the Flibusta electronic library , the bot of the torrent tracker NoName Club, plus the "representative offices" of a number of other sites and services, including quite legal ones, such as, for example, Yandex . Shortly after these bots appeared, the copyright holders started complaining about them to Apple and Google.

Only registered users can participate in the survey. Sign in , please.

Do you think Telegram will now remove bots Rutracker, Flibusta and other "pirates"?
