We invite you to the meeting of the GeekUniversity game development department


    Our online university, GeekUniversity, will host a meeting of the Department of Game Development. Participants will be able to discuss with practitioners why and how to apply the ECS (Entity Component System) architecture and whether it can be dispensed with. The meeting will be useful for both beginners and practicing developers at Unity. The event will be held in the Moscow office of Mail.ru Group on May 25, starting at 14:00.     • Valentin Simonov, Field Engineer at Unity Technologies, will talk about Data-Oriented Tech Stack (DOTS) and its parts: ECS, C # Job System, Burst Compiler, Unity Physics - technologies that will allow games on Unity to use all the capabilities of modern desktop and mobile hardware .
    • Sergey Klimenko, a programmer at Moonlight Mouse studio, will talk about how to implement gameplay mechanics in DOTS, where to start the transition to DOD, how to organize data and systems in ECS, and how to optimize system runtime using C # Job System.
    • Vasily Markevich, a student at the GeekUniversity game development department, Project Manager, author of @ecscomrade , will share his development experience on ECS and answer two main questions of a novice developer: “Why do I NOT need ECS? Why do I NEED ECS? ”
