Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus - wide-view smartphones

The new vision of Sony smartphones with an emphasis on the possibility of creating and consuming content is reflected not only in the rethought flagship Xperia 1 , but also in mid-range devices. In 2019, the logical continuation of the Xperia XA series was the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus models with concise names, new screen formats and improved features. As the flagship, these models were presented in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress, and most importantly, recently went on sale in the Russian market.

“We use Sony's innovations in mid-range smartphones to make new technologies as accessible as possible,” said Mitsuya Kishida, president of Sony Mobile Communications. “Smartphones with a new 21: 9 widescreen display with a sleek and sophisticated design fit perfectly in your hand and are just made for fun.”

Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus smartphones have received new widescreen displays with an aspect ratio of 21: 9 for efficient work with several applications at the same time, display more content, shoot video with cinematic proportions and watch movies without black bars. Screen quality is up to par. Smartphones use IPS matrices with maximum viewing angles, accurate color reproduction and high contrast, as well as a large margin of brightness for readability of content on the street on a sunny day. The resolution of the displays is Full HD +, with diagonals of 6 and 6.5 inches, a sufficient pixel density is obtained for any task, whether it be games, watching movies and TV shows, editing photos or editing video.

Separately, it is worth noting the support for multi-window split-screen mode, which was conveniently accessed through the Side Sense proprietary side menu. Due to the aspect ratio of the 21: 9 screen, applications divided in equal proportions are displayed on the screen better and contain more content than if the division is made into squares or rectangles with landscape orientation, as when using 18: 9 and 16: 9 displays. In addition, on the display of Xperia 10 or Xperia 10 Plus, you can split the screen so that one application is displayed in the classic 16: 9 format (for example, it can be a music video) and at the same time there would be more space for the second application (for example, correspondence in the messenger).

The new dual camera in the Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus supports the concept of the screen and offers shooting video in 4K resolution and 21: 9 aspect ratio. Ideal for those who dream of camera work, but so far only ready for experiments in a mobile format. Xperia 10 uses 13MP and 5MP modules, while Xperia 10 Plus uses a bunch of 12MP and 8MP matrices. The quality of shooting and the functionality of the software fully meet the expectations of users. Photos and videos are obtained with rich colors, excellent contrast and detail. In the younger model, the second camera provides portrait mode and serves to effectively blur the background, while in the older model it allows you to make portraits and shoot with a double optical zoom.

In terms of design, the new smartphones received ergonomic metal cases, and the front - reliable protection with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The case is quite thin, and there are practically no frames around the screen, so a convenient and reliable grip of the smartphone is provided. Of interest, it is also worth noting the return of the fingerprint scanner to the side of the smartphone. True, now it is made in a separate unit (and not built into the power button) and with its glossy finish adds a twist to the side when looking at the smartphone. This arrangement does not impair the user experience. Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus users do not have to press the power button and then the scanner, because touching the sensor automatically activates the screen and unlocks the smartphone after fingerprint recognition.

All other branded chips of Xperia smartphones are also in place. For example, there is support for Sony High-Resolution Audio and the LDAC codec, with which you can listen to music in its original sound, even through wireless headphones. Sony Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE HX) technology is also used, which automatically improves compressed audio files almost to high-resolution quality, restoring the subtleties of the original recordings and simulating live sound. Smart Stamina algorithms provide long life without recharging, and battery life is enhanced by using Battery Care technology and Qnovo adaptive charging.

In terms of performance, the Xperia 10 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 mobile platform with 3 GB of RAM, 64 GB storage and memory card support. The battery capacity is 2870 mAh. Xperia 10 Plus uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 platform, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of constantly party with the expansion of microSD cards. The battery has a capacity of 3000 mAh. Both models are running the Android 9.0 Pie operating system. Customers can choose the body colors that are most suitable for their style, this year Sony designers offer dark blue, black, silver and gold. The cost of Sony Xperia 10 is 24 990 rubles, and Xperia 10 Plus can be bought for 29 990 rubles.
