Today at 6 am Moscow time, Tesla presented the new Model Y electric car. Yesterday we wrote about expectations, and almost all of them came true, without surprises. At the presentation, Elon Musk talked a lot about the history of the company, energy, and he presented the car modestly, only by facts.
The Model Y case is 10% larger than the Model 3. The inside is the same interior, the same 15 '' display, a fully panoramic roof, 1840 liters of boot space (approximately the same as the Volvo XC 90 and slightly smaller than the Audi Q7 ) The information that there will be three rows of seats inside (7 seats) was confirmed, but the seats were folded at the show and test rides.
The total weight of the machine has not yet been called, but they say that it is 1800-2000 kg.
Model Y has a new charging connector in Europe - CCS Type 2, the same as recently put on all new European Model 3 for charging on Supercharger V3 stations.
The electric car will be released in four versions:
One of the surprises was that the standard versions of Model Y use rear-wheel drive. In versions of Performance and Long Range AWD are two independent electric motors.

Obviously, in the cheapest standard version there will be a more powerful battery than in the standard Model 3 - with a larger weight, the Y can withstand a greater distance. But in the maximum configurations of Model 3, the charge is still enough for longer.

Design like Model 3 - seats, interior, in general. But Y is softer than a triple, wider, more beautiful and harmonious, and even more harmonious than Model X, more than a sense of completeness. Strong, knocked down, madly holding the road. Very cool ride, accelerates quickly. Liked that a completely glass roof. Doors are made above.
If you choose between X, Y and 3 - I would choose Y. But, unfortunately, it will have to wait a couple of years.
