Google Robot Car was stopped by a policeman for driving too slow

Cars with a computer control system from Google have rolled on the roads for almost 2 million kilometers, never having received a warning or a fine from the traffic police. True, they still did not reach 2 million cars, because on one of the roads in Los Altos (USA), a policeman still slowed down the robomobile, claiming to be too slow.

Indeed, Google’s robotic car speed is limited to a maximum of 40 kilometers per hour. This is done in order not to scare pedestrians and road users. According to representatives of the team, if they had done so that the car would have been worn on the roads, this would hardly have been accepted positively by ordinary people and authorities.

As it turned out later, the policeman did not write out a fine, but simply asked why the vehicle was moving so slowly. By the way, in California (and in many other regions too) there is still no answer to the question of what to do to the policeman if he stopped the car and there is nobody inside.

It is also interesting to know whether Google’s robomobile system can respond to the signals (light and sound) of police cars. If so, how?

By the way, in one of the comments on the Google publication about the incident, it was said that “the policeman is, in fact, a robot created by Google. And the photo was taken by the drone, which also belongs to Google. " Maybe everything is so? Not excluded.
