Developer HoloLens killed in a car accident

One of the developers of the futuristic HoloLens project, Mike Ey, died in a car accident in Redmond.

30-year-old Mike worked on HoloLens technology, which in the future will allow digital objects to be superimposed on a real-world picture in augmented reality applications. “He said it was the coolest thing,” Mike’s girlfriend, Kelley Piering, told the local television station. “That she’s not perfect yet, but someday she’ll become so.” A graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology came to Microsoft as a developer in June 2013.

Mike's dorm friends recallthat in a social sense, he was like Sherlock Holmes, as if he worked "on a different level" compared to the rest. Being smart and gifted, Mike tried to achieve perfection in everything, no matter what he took, and was very proud of it.

“He was the most reliable person in the world,” said Kelly Peering. “You could ask him anything and be sure that it would be done, regardless of whether he knew anything about it or not.”

All the developer’s dreams were interrupted on Saturday morning when a car crashed into his car at State Route 520 at a speed of more than 160 km / h. The culprit escaped from the scene, but Redmond police found and detained him.

When a similar tragedy happened in June 2013with the co-founder of the Oculus Rift project, which simply switched the intersection to the green light, they correctly noted in the comments : “That's how good and smart people die because of some freaks.”

Mark's friends say he was a very careful driver. Over 30,000 people die annually due to accidents on US roads , far more than in all armed conflicts combined.
