Veeam Academy - practical classes for beginners C # developers

In the fall of 2017, Veeam Software launches its first educational project: a course for C # developers.

We will not hide that, like many companies that conduct their own training programs, we do this in order to attract talented developers to our team who are still at the beginning of their careers. Focusing on the dynamics with which the career of Veeam developers is developing, we select specialists with great potential for professional growth.

We offer not just the opportunity to get free training - after the course is completed, successful participants will have a real chance to get into the company and become part of the Veeam Research & Development team.

Briefly: Over the 11 years of Veeam's existence, we have “pumped karma” in the development of boxed software for data backup. Now we are ready to share knowledge with those who are interested in programming.

Who is the course for

Summary: The course is aimed at young professionals with basic knowledge of C #.

Many young specialists are familiar with the situation: companies do not consider candidates without development experience, but this experience can be gained only by finding a job and working in real projects. To get out of the "vicious circle" you have to settle on the principle of "where to get it," and not "to where it is interesting."

And if it’s not yet clear what is interesting? In this case, you need to try just a little bit. We offer to gain experience in team project development using modern Microsoft technologies (these are Entity Framework, WCF, WPF, etc.).

They say that appetite comes with eating. Acquainted with various tricks, you can decide what you like more. In addition, after training, all developments remain in the personal portfolio of the listener (which is extremely useful in employment).
In our course, we focus mainly on the students' acquisition of practical skills in industrial software development, and also pay attention to teamwork.

Program and format of classes

Briefly: Over 2 months of team work on the principles of Agile, participants will develop their own project using modern programming technologies. Full-time classes, 3 times a week in the evening. Training is free for all participants.

We will build the entire course around the development of a pilot project.
The pilot project does not involve further use of the turnkey solution in Veeam products. Therefore, its topic is chosen by students of the course collectively at the beginning of training. It can be, for example, a social network, a media server, a version control system, or something else.

The duration of the course is two months. Classes will be held weekly (3 times a week) for 4 hours in the evening in one of the Veeam offices in St. Petersburg, not far from Ploshchad Lenina metro station. In the group will be trained no more than 15 people. The course is free for all participants.

Classes are held in the format of lectures and practical works. The course is taught by Dmitry Shalymov, Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics, MCSD, has more than 10 years of software development experience.

How to sign up

1) Without delay, register on the Academy website by filling out the questionnaire here .
2) Shortly after registration, a link to the test task will be sent to you by e-mail. You can go through it online until August 31.
3) Test results will be announced to each participant after August 31.

Each registrant will have only one attempt to pass the test, limited exclusively by the time frame: until August 31. Those who for some reason do not have time to pass the test will be able to take part in the next recruitment of participants at Veeam Academy.
