What kind of movie do you need to watch with the team

Now it’s customary to scold those who watch movies and praise those who read books. But I found two films that would be useful to watch not only alone, but also with your subordinates. And now I will explain why.

Motivation

Once upon a time, back in the late 90s, an intelligent person expressed the opinion that the main problems of our people are that no one has a goal. No one understands what he wants to achieve and what needs to be done for this.

Now, one and a half decades later, it has not become much better. The fat 2000s brought people faith in a calm and well-fed life, but did not give the necessary promise to work hard and hard.
If earlier many believed that it would not be better, you can not try, but now these people believe that everything will be fine on its own, you can not strain.
I have been conducting quite a lot of interviews lately and two categories of candidates come to me periodically.

The first go with the flow. To the question “Why haven’t you been working for six months?” This: “There was money in general, I didn’t see the need.” Their dream is a warm place where you can sit out your pants for a salary.

The latter are energetic, but this energy is mainly aimed at increasing personal well-being. When I asked such a candidate (very average in terms of skill level) what level of payment he was counting on, I heard "Your salaries in Moscow are just crazy, so no less than 100 thousand." “Why didn’t you learn programming at your previous job, did you offer you for free?” I asked.
“And what a fool I am, to 9 every day to stay! But they wanted me to spend my personal time on this! ”He replied.
But the worst thing is that quite working and motivated employees can eventually slide down to the state of two previously considered characters.

And so that this does not happen - sit down with the whole company and show them the film “Wolf from Wall Street”. It’s possible not even the whole movie, but only this fragment: Click to watch And then discuss. If they didn’t get through, if they didn’t want to pick up the phone and call the customer right now, then it’s quite possible that they are the wrong people for you. Perhaps they want to sit out the crisis (or life) in a warm nest, making a minimum of movements. Or get everything ready, effortless. And you may need to do the upgrade of your team. Passion for sales. Sales managers, alas, are not considered the business elite. Some consider it a boring craft, others unworthy of their "great" destiny.

As a result, sellers often become those who could not find themselves in other areas. Or hopes that this occupation is temporary.

The fact is that sellers are needed even in difficult times, so many marketers, HRs, designers and others want to sit out the crisis in sales.
Since this is a temporary activity for them, they are not going to develop, grow and improve their qualifications. So you should not expect high results.

If (it just so happened) your team has a lot of just such “settlers”, show them the film “The Jones Family”. Let them see that the sales process is a complicated and interesting thing. Click to view

The principle is clearly shown in the film - if you do not believe it, then you will not sell it . Until the seller himself sincerely considers his product to be the best, to believe that it is impossible to do without it and he will bring happiness to the customer - sales will remain sluggish, mumbling on the phone "tell me, have you already watched our system? ..."

In general, watch only the right movie.
And good luck with your business!
