On the other side of the game: an open course on game design
Already on the educational platform "Universarium" you can sign up for the online course "Game design: on the other side of the game." The course participants will learn the basic stages of developing a computer game design document, find out what skills a game designer should have, and find out what the success of a project depends on.
The course is taught by Alexey Kalinin, executive producer of Game Stream JLLC, the Minsk Wargaming development center, and the author of 30 board and 10 computer games.
Program of the course:
1. Introduction to game design. The profession of a game designer, his role in the production process, his participation in the development of the game.
2. What is a game? Calculation of the overall structure of the game. Fun points. Game economy. Character development.
3. The terms of reference for art (models, textures, animations, special effects)
4. The social structure of the game world. Quests. Types of quests.
5. Management of an online game. Replenishment of content, correction of holes, acceleration and deceleration of player development, monetization.
Participation in the online course is free and does not require prior training or special education. The training will last 10 weeks - exactly so much will be required in order to master the material, pass the test and get a certificate.
