Since the birth of George Orwell - 110 years. Dress all surveillance cameras in holiday hats!

This is precisely the idea of the original project of two creators from the Netherlands (in general, such people are usually called artists , but they are not artists, sculptors or writers, in short, creators). Mindful of the fact that June 25 marks the 110th anniversary of the birth of George Orwell, these guys decided to tag surveillance cameras located on the streets of Utrecht. Well, it was decided to mark them with clown headdresses - these are sometimes worn by birthday people on their birthday.

It is clear that the cameras will not start dancing, but the idea was not to entertain the cameras, but to show how many were around them. Surveillance cameras have long been a part of our lives, but we don’t notice them, we are used to them. In most new (and old too) cities in Europe, Asia, the USA, more and more surveillance cameras appear every day. Private cameras belonging to commercial companies, city cameras belonging to the municipality, all kinds of equipment belonging to it is completely incomprehensible to anyone. All this is the reality of our days.

There are just a huge number of cameras, and creators from Utrecht marked a small part of them so that people passing by these devices would still notice “electronic eyes”. We will not, of course, go into paranoia, but still it somehow becomes uncomfortable if you think about how many “eyes” are watching people.
