Apple has banned the sale of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the United States

A California court upheld Apple’s motion to ban the sale of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet computer in the United States in connection with Apple’s Samsung patent infringement.

The latter accused the South Korean company of violating its patent for a tablet design that describes the front and back panels, as well as the side faces of an iPad-like device.

In December 2011, the court already considered a similar application by Apple, but did not satisfy it.

Thus, the company was the first to succeed in litigation in the "home" American market. Previously, sales of competing Apple devices were banned only in other countries.

Judge Lucy Koh said that although “Samsung will inevitably suffer from the withdrawal of its products from the market,” Apple’s patent inflicted damage is “more significant.”
