According to a report published on August 17, 95% of tablet owners and those who want to purchase it, dream of an Apple iPad.

The report, which was published by the analytical agency Robert W. Baird & Co , was compiled from a survey of 1,114 people, 98% of whom live in the United States.

More than 50% of respondents aged 22 to 60 said they had already purchased a tablet or were interested in buying one, while 95% of those surveyed chose the Apple iPad as their priority.

Although the survey participants could choose several different options, only 10% chose the Hewlett-Packard TouchPad “tablet”, and not more than 4% chose the Blackberry PlayBook tablet. Acer Iconia, using the Android system, scored no more than 1% among respondents.

Jason Noland, an analyst and author of the study, said that any competitor to the iPad is unlikely to reach it in popularity in the near future: “I find it hard to believe that anyone can compete with the iPad,” he said during a telephone interview. “I think that other companies have a chance if they offer a much cheaper product that can be used as a production tool.”

When asked if Google can compete with Apple using gadgets on the Android platform, Mr. Noland replied: “Until a device with fantastic add-ons and half the price of an iPad comes out, this is hardly possible.”

The study also found that 83% of tablet owners are still planning to buy a PC supplement to it.. This means that replacing personal computers with tablets is very slow.
