Lightpack 5.5 published

Readers remember that back in December last year, after the publication of the user brunql , he and timsat decided to take seriously an open-hardware project called Lightpack . In February, we even presented you revision 4.3, after which many bright goals joined the project.

And today I am ready to show you what we have achieved for version 5.5, which has become the first commercial options for Lightpack that can be bought for money:

So, what’s important (besides this video) we did:
    • Revised the scheme greatly increasing its versatility
    • Increased the number of LEDs and capture zones up to 10 pieces
    • We wrote a simple API for communicating with the device through plugins and documented it
    • Added backlight mode to software
    • We wrote a simple plug-in for XBMC for managing software from the media center
    • Implemented a divine intervention gamma correction
    • Broke software for OS X (repair)

All wiring, circuit diagrams, lists of components and assembly instructions are now available on the project hosting. Commercial copies from the pilot batch, unfortunately, did not reach the post on Habré, although I’m sure that it will be more interesting for you to collect everything yourself. And the last Lightpack from the pilot game can be won at all .

The Habr administration considered that a separate blog about open-hardware is not needed and I have no objective reasons to disagree with their decision. Therefore, the topic is published in open-source, and not in DIY or "I am PR."
