Classic design with Aero features

The design of Windows Vista by default is pretty nice and comfortable. But, unfortunately, not for everyone. For a long time I used it, since no alternative was offered - you can turn on only Aero Basic, which is Aero with a number of disabled visual effects (and as a result it looks very dull) and "Classic". Classic - design familiar to everyone since the time of Windows 95. Strict lines, gray colors, minimalistic design. In general, what you need. With one exception, when you turn on the Classic theme, all Aero visual effects are completely disabled. This is only to someone’s hand, but after an hour or two I had to urgently turn on the disgusting Aero back. Windows Blinds works with a number of applications used by me (for example, with FireFox) clumsily and frankly shuts in places.

This was quite a long time, until I accidentally stumbled upon the opportunity to use various themes for Vista - however, this process is not as simple as on XP, and requires changes to system files. But this is not a problem - good people have already written a bunch of utilities that do this. I used a utility from Code Gazer called Vista Glazz . But the next step was to install a third-party theme called Vista Classic . Voila - and we get Vista with a classic look, while retaining all the features of Aero!

It should be noted that by default, Vista Classic changes the fonts to those different from those used in Aero. After working with them for a couple of weeks, I nevertheless climbed into the settings and set those that were originally installed. To do this, open the "Control Panel" - "Design and Personalization" - "Adjust the color scheme" - "Open the properties of the classic appearance ..." - "Other ..." and set the font Segoe UI.
