12/07/2008 An authorized rally in defense of the Vostok rocket will take place
In the past months, a number of statements by high-ranking government officials have been published in the media, from which it follows that on the territory of the All-Russian Exhibition Center in the form of a monument, the Vostok launch vehicle can be dismantled or completely destroyed. These statements took place against the backdrop of public destruction on the territory of the All-Russian Exhibition Center of the Tu-154 aircraft. (see appendices)
The Vostok rocket is not only the rarest example of engineering, but has long been an unofficial symbol of Our Country, marking the brightest and brightest milestone in the history of the USSR, Russia and humanity as a whole - the first manned flight into space on a similar rocket on April 12 1961 by our compatriot - Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin.
Given all this and guided by paragraph 3 of Art. 44 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which obliges every citizen to “take care of the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, to preserve historical and cultural monuments”, and in accordance with Art. 31 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, we - a group of citizens of the Russian Federation, announce the holding of a rally on December 7, 2008.
The purpose of the peaceful action is:
To draw public attention to the future fate of the Vostok rocket at the All-Russian Exhibition Center and demand that it be given the legal status of “Object of cultural heritage (historical and cultural monument) of the peoples of the Russian Federation”, the status of “UNESCO World Heritage Site” and thus exclude any possibility of its destruction or replacement .
We urge all goodwill people who agree with our goals to join us and take part in the rally, which will be held from 12:00 to 14:00 on Sunday December 7, 2008, in Moscow, at the main entrance of the All-Russian Exhibition Center (former VDNH).
The initiative group for the preservation of the Vostok rocket is the
