Thoughts aloud or thematic filters.

There are a huge number of thematic resources and often the subject is very extensive, as an example you can take the same hubr. These are undeniably very useful resources, but at the same time, I apologize for the comparison, sometimes reminiscent of a mixture of Ikea and Eldorado. In general, a landfill. There are a lot of articles and it’s sometimes difficult to figure it out. Here themed filters can come to our aid.

    What are thematic filters?

First, let's agree on how to interpret the word filter in this context. I suggest using it as a designation of a certain condition for searching and / or sorting information. As an example, I am interested in new articles on the blogs “I am smart,” “I am PR,” “Ubuntarium,” and in the personal blogs of my friends. Suppose that the thematic filter functionality has already been implemented on the hub. I go into the settings and in the text box I enter the names of the blogs that interest me, click on the checkbox with the inscription "Read friends' blogs", select in the selection that the words and phrases entered above, separated by commas, are nothing more than the names of blogs (and we won’t allow tags, which should occur in messages or, for example, words in the message heading or in the texts themselves). I click on the button to create a filter and ... Voila! Now I’m not shown all the messages on the heap, but only those which fall under the filter criteria. Beauties! In the upper right corner under my profile there is a small panel in which it is displayed that the filter is used, as well as buttons for quick control of it, something like “change”, “cancel”, “delete”. I think it is not worthwhile to dwell on these buttons in detail. Is it that the "cancel" and "delete" are different in that when you select the first item, the filter remains and you can turn it on later, in the second case the filter will have to be recreated.

In principle, I set out my idea, as I usually add, that it does not pretend to be my genius and objectivity either.

Z.Y. I am pleased to hear your opinion about such a system in the comments :)
