What will Blue Origin space tourists pay for?

The company published a video of the flight “from the first person”.

A ticket for a flight into space is very expensive. The first space tourists paid tens of millions of dollars for the right to climb aboard the ISS. After some time, private companies, including Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin, expressed a desire to do space tourism .

Blue Origin has recently launched a New Shepard rocket into the suborbital flight, at which tourists will rise to an altitude of about 100 km. This, of course, is not 35,000 km (the last Falcon 9 result from Space X, the launch of a communications satellite into a geostationary orbit), but the purpose of these spacecraft is different. So, now Blue Origin has posted a video that shows us what the future space tourists will see.

Let me remind you that the spacecraft capsule is designed to accommodate 6 people. The New Shepard rocket is designed for suborbital space flights . The rocket speed is not high enough to achieve a regular orbit, but for suborbital flights it fits almost perfectly. By the way, the landing stage was sent back into space, and again successfully planted. Double success.

In the video, we also see the landing of the rocket stage, but in reality the tourists will not see it - they will land in a capsule, which is lowered by means of a parachute.

The cost of space travel on this ship has not yet been disclosed. The development of the system began by Blue Origin in 2006. At the same time, the company acquired a land plot of about 770 km² in the state of Texas to build a launch complex and other structures. The test flight of the first prototype took place in 2006. In 2011, two test flights of the second prototype took place, the second flight ended abnormally. During the test flight on April 29, 2015, the capsule reached a height of 112 km and landed successfully, the missile landing failed.

Unfortunately, the cost of the ticket is not reported. However, representatives from Virgin Galactic said earlier that the price would be $ 250,000. It is quite possible that Blue Origin has comparable prices.
