Budget quadrocopter Parrot Bebop with FullHD-camera will be released in December

Parrot is preparing to release the long-awaited Parrot Bebop quadrocopter - a low-cost alternative to professional flying drones with 1080p aerial photography. In the windows of American, Australian and English stores, the gadget will appear next month at a price of $ 499.

Unlike the previous two quadrocopters of this brand - AR.Drone and AR.Drone 2.0, for which aerial photography was rather a pleasant bonus than the main specialization - Bebop is equipped with the highest level: the device’s body is equipped with a built-in FishEye video camera with a viewing angle of 180 degrees, f / 2.2 aperture and 14-megapixel sensor. Thanks to the high resolution of the camera, Parrot Bebop supports digital image scaling, rotation and a three-axis stabilization system. And although, according to some experts, the camera is not very well positioned, its low weight (only 400 grams) and compact dimensions (side of the square - 28 centimeters, height - 3.6 centimeters) make Parrot Bebop a very attractive solution for air pilots.

In addition to video, Parrot Bebop take pictures in JPEG and DNG formats. The latter is the most popular extension of the RAW format, which saves raw data directly from the camera’s matrix and allows you to bring pictures to mind already in a graphical editor. Of course, support for the RAW format, along with video in MP4, place high demands on the capacity of internal storage. The manufacturer did not provide the device with a traditional slot for SD or microSD cards, but expanded the internal memory to 8 gigabytes. Given that the estimated duration of the Parrot Bebop flight is only 11 minutes, the capacity of the built-in storage is enough for several departures.

As for controls, here Parrot offers a pleasant variety in the form of touch control via a smartphone or tablet and a convenient alternative in the form of a professional Skycontroller transmitter compatible with Android and iOS tablets. The controller is equipped with a neck strap, two convenient joysticks for both hands, as well as a reinforced Wi-Fi module with four antennas, significantly increasing the drone's range and altitude. Skycontroller will appear in stores along with the quadrocopter itself. The full kit is expected to cost around $ 889.
