
Alibaba will launch its Netflix-like streaming service
Alibaba will launch a streaming video service similar to Netflix and HBO within two months , Reuters reports . The company wants to repeat the success of American services in China.

service will be called Tmall Box Office - “TBO”. Content will be bought in China and other countries and produced in the company itself.
In the domestic market, Alibaba will compete with a number of companies: Tencent Holdings Ltd, iQiyi from Baidu, Sohu.com, LeTV - Leshi Internet Information & Technology Corp Beijing. Youku Tudou Inc, one of the largest video streaming platforms in China, Alibaba owns 16.5%, will become another competitor.
About 10% of the content will be free. The rest are available by subscription.
