ION netbook
Netbooks are different, large, not very cool ... But there are those in which the netbook has dimensions, operating time and lack of drive and a glossy screen .
Today, ASUS Eee PC 1215N is presented to you, habradams and habragospods .

In the summer, before me was the choice of which netbook to take. Having looked at Ya.Market, and immediately discarding models with Intel GMA graphics, I began to review the rather meager selection of netbooks on nVidia ION.
First, the choice fell on the Lenovo S12-1N, but then went over to the side of the EeePC 1201N.
It was a matter of buying, but then the EeePC 1215N announcement came to my eyes, and I, recalling the saying "avaricious pays twice" and bit my lip, went to the sea empty.
Having returned, he rushed to look for a model in stores, and, happiness!, He arrives on September 8.
And now, in front of us is a small neat little box.

The first thing that catches your eye is the sticker of Microsoft Office 2010. :)
Opening the box, we see a set: netbook, battery, charger, soft case (the most ordinary case, black), a thin instruction manual and warranty card.
Some ask in surprise: what about driver disks?
What for? There is no drive in the netbook, but the driver can also be downloaded from the ASUS website.
We get a netbook, inspect ... And then an unpleasant surprise awaited me: there was no USB 3.0 in the netbook.
Fortunately, this is the only disappointment in this netbook.
In general, a lightweight netbook, nice to hold in your hands, a matte metallic cover, “porous” plastic from the bottom.
In the same place below the bottom are two slats of DDR3 RAM under a cover with such a cog. Also on the bottom is a sticker with the Windows 7 Home Premium key.

I was surprised and disappointed that there are two 1 GB strips, not one 2 GB, because I wanted to expand to 4 GB immediately after purchase.

Pretty slim compared to the ProBook 4720s all the more.

From one side, the connectors (from left to right) of the memory, VGA, HDMI, USB, as well as the ventilation grill and the SD card reader are looking at us.

On the other (left to right) Jack 3.5 headphones, Jack3.5 microphone, 2xUSB (which should be 3.0, by the way) and Ethernet.

In fact, the 1215N is a revised and redesigned Eee PC 1201N: a matte case, a long working time, and a processor more suitable for a netbook.
In fact, the screen, the frame around the screen and around the keyboard remained glossy.
Another plus is an enlarged touchpad, 5x8.5 cm, a polygon whole !, with multitouch support.
The keyboard is quite comfortable, Fn is not interchanged with Ctrl.

A powerful filling is hidden inside this netbook: a dual-core (4 threads) Intel Atom D525 processor 1.8 GHz

... as well as discrete graphics nVidia ION2 (GT218) with 512 MB of internal memory. 1080 videos on YouTube are calmly played, (4K slows down), games such as NFW: Underground 2, NFS: World, Half-Life 2 do not slow down a bit.

Intel GMA 3150 graphics are adjacent to discrete graphics, switching between them is carried out depending on your needs thanks to nVidia Optimus technology!

And in the end, the performance index is 3.3

... and 3413 3Dmark'05 points at a resolution of 1366x768 and with double anti-aliasing.

In Pcmark'05 such points are
HDD: 3647
CPU: 2165
Memory: 2300
In this particular model, a 320 GB WD hard drive is installed

Performance for the netbook is awesome. Watch HD movies, skype and firefox, a robust load and eat memory - all this at the same time - can do it! Not only that, heavy things like Photoshop and new games, and they turned out to be affordable.
One of the minuses is that the speakers are located at the bottom and sound “down”. On the table or on another surface we have some other sound, but Epic Fail on the lap.
